Order
a fireplace from another company and you may not see the finished article
until it is assembled in your living room.
We give you the chance to see most of our fireplaces dry built for your
inspection in the workshop before you accept delivery.
During
the process of design, selection and viewing you will no doubt meet our
staff so here is the lowdown, with a few surreptitiously taken mug shots
of our team...
Derek
Bennett is our fountain of all knowledge, and like his father,
who founded the company, what he doesn't know about fireplaces isn't worth
knowing!
As well as being our principal designer, he is also an expert stonemason.
Paul Smith, our longest servicing member of staff is
our stonemason, a pivotal figure in the construction of our fireplaces
since 1967.
Ray Frost, has been assembling our fireplaces in our
customers homes since the late 1970’s. It is widely acknowledged
that he has taken the building of briquette fireplaces to a fine art.
It is he that ensures that the final result meets with your approval.
Bruce Bennett, Derek’s brother, designed and created
our unique range of ceramic plaques and tiles, a detail option to many
of our fireplaces.
Mark Nattrass is the newest member of the team , as well
as taking over the running of the company in 2000, he is committed to
learning the practical side of the business - and has already designed
and hand-crafted the much acclaimed ‘Curly-Wurly’ fireplace!
Deb Nattrass, who controls the finances, is perhaps the
most important, yet unacknowledged member of the team! Ensuring that wages
are paid and the work carries on for another fifty years.
No photograph is available until reasonable rates have been negotiated
by her Publicity Manager.
New John Street, Our new home which we moved into in
2001, has given us increased scope to show our work, and works in progress,
in a spacious, uncluttered, environment that allows one to stand back
to assess our workmanship.
